Bev’s Baby Ruth Bars

From Aunt Joanne's Yummy Baby Ruth Bars

Ingredients

**************For those PB allergies, substitute either sunflower or almond or one of the others for the regular peanut butter

  • 1 Cup light Karo syrup
  • 1 Cup white sugar
  • 11/2 cups peanut butter
  • 4 cups rice crispies

Frosting

  • 6 oz. butterscotch chips
  • 6 oz chocolate chips

Directions

Butter/spray 9x13 pan 

Bring syrup and sugar to full boil

Remove immediately from stove and quickly stir in peanut butter and cereal

Press into buttered pan. I found it easier to use a spatula to press the mix down into a layer in the pan. I sprayed the spatula!

 

Frosting:

Put both kinds of chips in a glass measuring cup and melt in microwave. Or you can melt in double boiler on stove. Stir often.

When melted, spread with knife over the Krispies pressed in the pan. 

Yum!
