I grew up in Celina, Ohio, a small town in the 1960’s. At the time, we did not realize the freedom we had and the advantages of living in a small town.
I have led a blessed life with a husband of 50+ years, 3 daughters, and now 4 grandchildren. I didn’t know much about cooking or baking when we first got married so we lived on easy things like Tuna Noodle Casserole, Van De Kamp’s Fish Sticks, and Chipped Beef and Gravy (I learned how to make the chipped beef in 8th grade Home Economics class. Thank you, Mrs. Hollinger!)
Through the years, I have come to love cooking, and trying new recipes – some good, some not so good. Slowly I found recipes that I liked and added them to my recipe box.
Food seemed to be the center of our celebrations with friends and family. We have enjoyed Kabob Offs, Italian Night, a Murder Mystery Dinner, Nothing but Lobster, Irish Celebration, Seafood Boils and many other great evenings with a food theme.
When our girls grew up and went out on their own, they would call asking how to make corn on the cob or want a recipe. So, I made each girl a cookbook. Many years later I have enough recipes for several more cookbooks! Thanks to a dear friend who suggested putting them online and then building the website. Thank you Rick!
