The story goes:
A friend went shopping at Neiman-Marcus in November 1987 and ate lunch. For dessert she had a cookie. She thought it was the most wonderful cookie she had ever tasted, and asked if the recipe was available. She was told that it was but there was a charge of “two-fifty”. She said that was fine, and she got the recipe and told them just to charge her account. When she got her bill in December, there was a charge of $250.00 on it. She called Neiman-Marcus and told them there must be a mistake, that the charge should be $2.50. She was told there was no mistake... that the $250.00 charge was correct! She has vowed to get them back, and wants to get this recipe out to everyone she possible can. She wants everyone who gets a copy to send or give it to everyone they know. Besides, the cookie is one of the most delicious ever, so here it is. |
This is a great cookie recipe and was fun hearing the story - whether it was true or not!!
