Combine the peanut butter, confectioners sugar, graham cracker crumbs, butter, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl and mix well.
Press into a 10 x 15 inch baking pan or 8 x 10 baking pan.
Melt the chocolate chips and the shortening in a small saucepan.
Spread over the peanut butter layer to cover.
Chill in the refrigerator until firm.
Cut into squares.
