Bird Suet

To be used in the winter - will attract birds, woodpeckers, nuthatches, etc.

Ingredients

  • Bacon, hamburger grease, or you can buy lard at the store.

Melt in pan, add:

  • Stale or moldy bread, broken up
  • bird seed
  • Peanut butter

Directions

Mix together and pour into butter dishes or square container.

Freeze.

It should not be more than 1-2 inches thick.

Put in suet holder (you will have to buy this at a store) and hang on tree.

You can also save the net bags that onions come in, put suet in and hang from tree.

And you know, I always kept a square container in the freezer that I put bread crumbs, etc. and any grease that I had.

Only use during the winter otherwise it will melt and make a mess on the tree!
