Bourbon Baked Beans

These Bourbon Baked Beans are so lusciously indulgent, they make other beans wish they had a splash of sass and a hint of bourbon swagger!

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • ½ c. chicken broth
  • ¼ c. bourbon
  • ¼ c. strong black coffee
  • ¼ c. Dijon mustard
  • 1 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ c. packed dark brown sugar
  • ½ t. pepper
  • 1 t. kosher salt
  • 1 t. hot paprika
  • 1 cup chopped ham
  • 5 cans (14 ½ oz) great northern beans, rinsed & drained
  • 6 strips bacon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 9×13 casserole dish.
  3. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except the ham, beans and bacon.
  4. Fold in the ham and beans
  5. Pour into casserole dish.
  6. Fry bacon but not crisp.
  7. Place bacon strips across top.

Bake 1 hour until beans are thick and bubbly and bacon is crisp.
