Baked Custard

This family recipe came from Pat Williams and handed down from Granny Frysinger, your Great Grandmother.

Ingredients

  • 3 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 2 c. milk, scalded
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • Nutmeg

Directions

Combine eggs, sugar and salt; slowly add milk and vanilla. Pour into 6 - 5 oz custard cups; sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake in pan of hat water in slow oven (325 degrees) until mixture doesn't adhere to knife, about 40-50 minutes. Serve warm or chill and serve cold.
